I went to the clinic Thursday 9th August. Opening hours for the walk in clinic are between 9- 11o'clock.
I arrived at 10.15 and was told it was closed because of staff shortages..upon making enquiries I discovered that staffing levels had been cut to such an extent that the clinic could not function if a member of staff was off sick.
This is so disgusting, I was furious.
I am a 84 year old man with quite severe disabilities.
I paid the parking fee of £2 then had to make my way upstairs to the clinic (lift was available). Walking is difficult for me so to get from home to the car park up to the clinic and back again was extremely hard.
It was also hard wasting the £2 pound charge for parking.
Do the people in charge of these services not think about the knock on effect it has on the patients when staff levels are cut to this extent.
The walk in clinic was set up to deal with minor problems relating to hearing aids, which for me, was an excellent idea.
Why set it up if you cannot deliver the service.
