I recently returned to the UK from a 2 week holiday (last Thursday). I realised that I only had enough drugs for 3 days; I am a diabetic, with high blood pressure, an underactive thyroid, rheumatoid arthritis etc etc.

I called to order a repeat prescription, and left a message on the automated system. I explained that I was almost out of drugs.

A few minutes later I has a call from the Surgery ( I assume the pharmacy), and the very nice lady informed me that she would process my request as a special case and I could collect after 5pm that same day.

She also explained that the prescription for Naproxen may not be included as this required a Doctors to approve.

I arrived at the surgery at 5pm, and was advised that my prescription had already been collected by the pharmacy and was being processed.

Then the member of staff noticed that I had a prescription that required a Doctors signature, she asked me to wait and immediately went to a Doctor who promptly signed the prescription - I popped over tot he pharmacy and collected ALL of my drugs.

I truly appreciate the quick turnaround and the way that I was looked after - so a huge thank you to the lady that processed my repeat prescription, and to member of staff for having my other prescription signed - great service - many, many thanks
