"Hospital in drastic need of change"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital / Accident and emergency

The premises are outdated. The hospital is too large and remote. There is a total lack of communication between departments. I felt more like a number than an individual. The computer systems do not appear to be integrated. Services seem to be unnecessarily duplicated.

Many of these problems are not the fault of the staff but I think that their morale has been eroded to the extent that they forget that they are there to help people.

Maybe breaking up the hospital into smaller entities in separate locations, closer to patients, might work better but that is something for those with more expertise to decide.
