About: Hospital Of St Cross / Ear, Nose and Throat

My Husband went down for an appointment for a hearing test and reassessments, only to be told they would not do it, and had no record of his testing and new hearing aids on last years visit??

The test was refused and told him to go to Specsavers as they are the only place to do any hearing tests now.

He came back very upset and said he was made out to be telling lies?

I phoned up Specsavers and they were just as confused as us when I explained the situation

Thank you for sharing your feedback on NHS Choices about Audiology at the Hospital of St Cross.

It is correct that we do not offer standard hearing tests at the hospital due to a change of contract.

However, I was very disappointed to hear about your husband's experience, and would like to apologise, as this is not the standard of care that we aim to provide.

I have spoken to our Head of Audiology, who would also like to apologise for your experience and has asked if you might be happy to provide the team with more information about your husband's visit to the hospital.

She has recommended that you or your husband rings up the department on 024 7696 6444 and ask to speak to a manager.
