“I have been a patient at West Street Surgery since 1993. Since that time the doctors and staff there have always given me brilliant help and service in a timely manner. The doctors are primarily concerned with preventive medicine and care. They’re very cognisant of latest clinical developments and information which, as a retired Industrial Health Manager, they have often conveyed to me, in answer to my poignant questions.

Despite cost-cutting changes in the NHS beyond their control, they still make things happen, to ensure that I've been given the very best treatment and respect. As a patient in my late 70's, who lives alone and has no family support close by, just recently my health has begun to deteriorate. However this Surgery has ensured that my health problems are dealt with speedily with methodical and systematic follow-up. I can testify that the Practice Nurses are very efficient in monitoring long-term illnesses according to their specialist training and all have the optimum interpersonal skills and clinical observation ability, which have brought to my attention encouragement to look after my own health better.

Although there are times when it may be difficult to get a pre-bookable appointments, as there is with most surgeries across the UK,, there is a very efficient doctor's call-back service offered to ensure that all relevant facts are considered and my safety and security is not put at risk. This resulted in me being called into the surgery recently for an emergency appointment and referral to hospital. .

The Practice Business Development Partner is efficient, fair-minded and manages staff well. I find

Receptionists well trained and respectful. . There are comprehensive training days for all levels of Surgery Staff , clinical and otherwise..

I have recently had to undergo Major Revision Hip Surgery in Europe's leading orthopaedic hospital,, thanks to the referral and concerted efforts of West Street Surgery. Their support thereafter has been exemplary.

The On-line system for booking appointments and medication reordering service works well including a collection service from my local pharmacy. As a less mobile person this has saves me much time and effort.

I have discovered The Patient Participation Group there, reviews problems and makes recommendations for improvements when necessary..The Surgery has a Corrective Action System for identifying and and rectifying operational weaknesses. .

The Partners have ensured that reinvestment has been made to ensure that the Waiting and

Consulting Rooms are bright, well-decorated and facilitated.

I would recommend anyone moving into Dunstable to register with this Surgery.It's far the best for miles around.
