About a month ago on a Saturday, rang 111 due to raging toothache and was referred to the unit. I was seen and treated within 2 hrs of first making the call. My dentist extracted the tooth the following week. Verdict..excellent proactive and advisory service.
The following week i accidentally fell injuring my leg. After ringing 111 and my GP, attended the UGC. I was triaged and xrayed within 30 minutes. I then (understandably) had to wait some hours. The diagnosis was possibly made remotely but i was immy fitted with a boot and provided with crutches.
I was then shown the break of my RH fibula and given common sense advice. The Nurse was professional and only spoke when she had all the facts before her.
Summary. An excellent service. More people should use it and wait patiently!
