Spent a day in Day Surgery. Had to wait for a long time after allocated to a seat. The staff were very friendly and helpful, however sometimes they were chatting loud at the nurse station. Surprised to see that one of the nurses had long varnished nails! Is this good infection control???

We are sorry that you had a mixed experience on our day surgery unit. We apologise that you witnessed a nurse who had long varnished nails. This is not part of the Trust uniform policy and staff have been reminded of this to ensure they adhere to this policy. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
