"Mr B - SCS Assessment / Neurology Team"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Neurology

I attended my appointment SCS Assessment with the Neurology Team Wednesday 25 July at QMC. I was seen within 30 minutes of my appointment time which was brilliant because I hate waiting around.

The consultant I saw, who in my opinion has given me the most fabulous news and in a few months I may well be on the road to getting my life back!

It may sound very dramatic but when you are in constant acute pain due to failed back syndrome for someone to say I can get rid of 50% of you pain in my opinion is “Superman” he answered all of our questions and made me feel at ease and hopeful. Yes I cried because I was so happy and my hubby couldn’t stop thanking him.

The Nurse we saw next was amazing and her knowledge was exceptional, she showed me different sized batteries and explained that I would need to “charge myself up” every week and that it will be very painful during the first operation but I really don’t care – I am looking forward to my operations.

I say bring it on!

Thank you QMC you’re all amazing and thank you NHS, there is no way on god’s earth I could afford to have a spinal cord stimulator fitted because I can imagine the cost would be the same price as a luxury car.

People are always quick to complain but always slow to say THANK YOU –YOU ARE FABULOUS!

Dear Chrissy

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience in our care, in your case with our Neurology and nursing teams at QMC. I’m pleased that our service has given you something to look forward to in the near future.

We hope your forthcoming treatment goes as best it can. I will pass on your kind feedback to appropriate teams.
