"Biopsy on my leg"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Ambulatory Care

(as the patient),

I was a bit apprehensive about going to the dermatology clinic but I need not have worried. The only, very minor, discomfort I felt was when the needle went in for the local anesthetic, the procedure that followed was not felt at all.

I was warmly welcomed by Christine and Dr Miller who removed a mole on my leg and cauterised the wound. Dr Miller explained what he was going to do and made sure I all my questions were answered  and I was comfortable before he started. I felt the needle go in but that was all, the rest was completely painless. Nurse Christine was there to check I was calm and comfortable whilst Dr Miller did what he needed to.

When he had finished he went though the after care process and explained what I would need to do to keep the would clean till it had healed.

Excellent. Thank you.

Firstly may I thank you for leaving such helpful feedback. It not only helps us improve our service, but sometimes you may find you have eased another patient's worries by sharing your positive experience.

I hope you won't be too disappointed to find out that I am not a Doctor, but a specially trained Nurse. I do explain this but sometimes when people are nervous it gets forgotten.

Christine will be delighted to hear you appreciated her ministrations, I am glad someone else values her as highly as I do.

Thank you once again, I hope you are healing well.

David
