"A&E Heart attack"

About: Hinchingbrooke Hospital / Accident and emergency

I was taken by ambulance to A&E with suspected heart attack. I was wary of what treatment I would receive based on the experiences of others from some time ago.

I found the attention and treatment exemplary. Non-stop tests, diagnosis and treatment within under 2 hours.

Had to stay in 3 nights until could be transferred to Papworth for angiogram, unfortunately during the recent heatwave. The ward was unbearably hot, nothing anyone could do about it, but staff were kind, sympathetic and attentive despite the working conditions. Well done them!

My only concern was that people's urine samples in pans were left in the shared bathroom for quite long periods of time. Unpleasant at best but more so in the heat. Surely a more hygienic system could be adopted, this is not the only hospital doing this!
