(as the patient),

I phoned our local Medical Practice (Skene Medical Group in Westhill, Aberdeenshire) at 8am in the hope of getting an appointment that day if at all possible. 

I was offered an emergency appointment in half an hour's time, which I gladly took!

I was seen on time at 0830 and my condition was promptly dealt with. I collected my prescription from the pharmacy next door twenty minutes later.
The whole situation had been dealt with in an hour, free of charge to me at point of use.

Well done Skene Medical Group and pharmacy - and thank you NHS Scotland.
