"Unprofessional and rude nurse"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

I was there today with my son , had to wait more than an hour to be seen . Receptionist was there brushing her hair ,very unprofessional and when I asked the other receptionist how long do we have to wait she didnt know and told me to ask somebody at the other desk in the fracture clinic . When i went there and asked one of thenurse , she replied ,Have some patience !!!!! How rude and disrespectful was that . I work in the health sector too. I know how busy it is to work in hospital but that answer was just Unprofessional and discourteous. .

Mrs Karen Gardiner, Head of Nursing for the area was so disappointed to learn of your experience. The type of behaviour you observed and experienced is unacceptable. Mrs Gardiner wants to apologise for this and hopes this is never repeated. The service manager for the area Mandy Wright visits the department daily and will be meeting with staff regarding your feedback.
