"Very positive experience"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

Attended at ayrshire maternity in July and attended early pregnancy. Diagnosed with hyperemesis and severe dehydration. Constant sickness while there. Staff were fabulous through all treatment and provided lots of reassurance and sympathy. I was not made to feel like a time waster at all.

A special thanks has to go to Jackie in early pregnancy who was so attentive and responsive to my individual needs and medical condition. On more than 1 occasion I heard her fighting my corner trying to make contact with the very busy doctors to get me what I needed.

I was then admitted to in patient ward at the unit and again all staff there were most helpful and attentive. This includes the maternity care assistants who offered me reassurance and the domestic staff who helped with any small task I had.

Very positive experience.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Srls1412

It sounds as if you are having a miserable time in this pregnancy so I am glad you are getting as much help and support from the team, particularly Jackie. It must make all the difference.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us on Care Opinion. Your post has been passed to the team and I am sure it made their day.

I hope the rest of your pregnancy continues more smoothly.

Kind regards,

Eunice
