"Gp and nurse exceeding expectations"

About: Hilltop Medical Practice

I’ve been with this GP for a number of years now and have been seen by 2 or 3 different Doctors over the years. It was always a concern for me initially as I felt comfortable with my main doctor. However, I have received nothing but the best card by all individually. I truly felt cared for my own concerns are fully taken into account and acknowledged. I’ve been in for my daughters before for one reason and the doctor noticed her scratching her eczema and asked me about it and advised and prescribed something for it. That wasn’t what we was there for but seeing her he took note and was moved to ask about it additionally to what we were initially there for. Honestly, I go in and feel I’m going to be heard and fully informed and genuinely given honest feedback that I can trust. I visited the nurse for my babies immunisations recently. She is very friendly and informative. She asks about her and how she’s doing generally. Any questions we have she is ready to give informed answers which really puts us at ease knowing our baby is in good hands. She really takes into account the individual and will cater her methods of approach to each individual especially children. We all know how traumatic it can be to see those needles at such a young age! Overall, I’m so pleased with the GP. Everyone would love to get appointments quicker but for the quality care you recieve, if it’s something that doesn’t require immediate attention, then it’s worth the wait to get the time to address your problem. Thank you to the team!

Dear Patient, Thank you so much for your positive feedback which I have forwarded to both the Doctor and the Nurse. As a small Practice we pride ourselves on getting to know our patients and trying to care for them as an individual and not a condition. You kind remarks will greatly bolster morale during very difficult times when the NHS is under such strain.

As clinicians, we are frustrated by having only 10 minutes per consultation but we must adhere to rules which enable us to see more patients in response to ever increasing demand. We also wish we could reduce our waiting times.

We have had more Doctors in consultations in order to bring down our waiting times which are currently at 6 working days. However, we have seen an increase in patients who book appointments but then fail to attend. This leads to a longer waiting time for other patients.

We have had support from our patient participation group who have helped develop our "Did not attend" policy for repeat offenders. This is in order to protect the majority of our patients who are considerate to their fellow patients and do attend or contact us in time to cancel.

Again, I thank you for taking time to leave a review.

Kind Regards

Dr Neeta Ghosh-Chowdhury
