"Useless"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Accident and emergency

I attended casualty on Friday 20th July at 430pm due to a bleed at 56 years old. After waiting for 4hrs in casualty I was sent up to gynaecology f1 for tests for which I waited a further 3 1/2hours. To be told I needed to be referred and to wait back outside whilst they did th referral. I was then told the couldnt use the computer to do the referral so I would need to go to my doctors on Monday to get him to refer me as I needed to be seen within two weeks.

Over the past 20 plus years I have been to casualty twice (this is over a three month period) and I have not received the care needed. I cannot believe how much the NHS has changed and fear for myself and my family in later years.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience; I am sorry that you had not found the care you received satisfactory.

Our aim is to provide all patients with excellent care and experience, so I regret we had not achieved this for you.

Should you remain dissatisfied with that experience please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) at your earliest opportunity on telephone 0161 604 5897, or email: pals@pat.nhs.uk quoting that you had been advised to do so via NHS Choices, and they will do our best to address your concerns.

We value your comments, as it helps us to continuously improve our service.

Regards,
