"My short stay A and E"

About: East Surrey Hospital

I was admitted due to a rectal bleed, something I had never experienced. I was whisked into A and E and seen within minutes by a staff nurse and a doctor. Wow, so friendly and understanding. Examined by these wonderful people taking the utmost care re my modesty. Every part of the way I was informed, no questions unanswered, I felt totally relaxed. I was informed I was to be admitted to a surgical ward and why so easy with the explanations and given lunch even making sure it was gluten free for my ongoing problem. Later in the day, I was taken to Copthorne ward for the night, again explaining in full detail what was happening. To cut short I am to return for a minor op very shortly to help my problem, assuring me that I will be OK. What a wonderful team that I have met over 24 hours. Tireless dedicated nursing staff, I do not know how you do a 12 hour shift, my hat off to you all. I must also include the background staff the cleaners the caterers etc, just as very helpful and cheerful.

So glad I live 5 miles from a super hospital.
