"Suretots"

About: Prospect Kilton Children's Centre

(as a service user),

My daughter has attended this group every week since becoming a confident walker, following on after Suremovers. She has become very confident during this session from being very nervous at the start.

She has become more confident climbing etc at home and out and about too. The group leaders  Julie and Helen have made us feel very welcome and as well as my daughter this session has helped my confidence too. We are deeply upset that this session has ended as there is no other session like it in the area. Our children are missing out!!

It is so good to hear from families about how ther children have grown by attending children centre sessions. We would want children to become confident learners in their readiness for school and beyond.

The children centres service provision is changing however we will still be providing a Stay & Play and an Under 1's group and there is also a community timetable which offers a range of groups and sessions for families and their children.

Please can you tell me why there won’t be a sure tots in our area though? Yes there is a stay and play but there is no play group that promotes physical activity.. this is something that a lot of children benefit from. All 3 of my children have benefited for many years from sure start sessions, and I find it extremely disappointing that children and family’s that pay into the system, that also can be bothered to attend sessions are going to be missing out

Hi again I understand it is hard when some services have to come to an end but we need to change the way we work to focus on those families who are in need of more targeted interventions.

These have been difficult decisions to make and the staff will be experiencing the same feelings but understand change can be a good thing to ensure that Children Centres services remain a priority for families and their children.
