I came into the dental hospital on Wednesday the of 27th of June.
The appointment was to confirm that an operation was going ahead to remove a small piece of tooth that had been left in my gum after an extraction. The dentist looked at my CT scan on the screen and we agreed to wait 6 months for the operation to see if I had any problems and if not maybe I didn’t need the operation. the dentist took another look at the CT scan and said to me before you go I would like to check something with a registrar.
I was then called back into the room with the registrar. He advised me that a piece of the tooth has ended up by my eye. He said that the operation would need to be carried out within the next 4 weeks as it could affect my sight and suggested to keep some anti biotics on me at all times in case my eye started to swell. 4 Weeks has now passed and I still have no appointment. I had a letter for an appointment for maxillofacial surgery but I then got a phone call on the 11th of July to say that it was the wrong department and that the appointment was cancelled. I rang yesterday and nobody seems to know what is happening.
I’m really concerned that I have been forgotten about and given I was told how serious this could be for my sight I really need to know what is happening.
