"Appalling"

I have been at Asket House for exactly 8 weeks today. I came from the Becklin Centre where it was decided that a referral to Asket House would be beneficial for me as I was told that they could provide psychological input. I have been admitted to an acute ward several times and it was felt that psychology would be useful for me to build up skills to stop this. This had been said for a number of years. I have so far not even seen a psychologist and the psychology formulation meeting that is supposed to happen at 4-6 weeks (too long anyway in my opinion) only happened yesterday! I have no idea when I will be starting therapy and have lost all faith in the staff around me, something I was told would happen 2 months ago, down the line is still yet to happen!

Thank you for taking the time to share with us your experience of the service.

We know that positive therapeutic relationships are a really important part of supporting people to recover so I was really disappointed to hear that you have lost faith in the staff working with you and that you feel like you have had to wait too long for psychological input.

I have shared your feedback with the Operational manager and the Clinical Team Manager.

The teams really value working with individuals to meet their needs and are sorry that you feel yours were left unmet.

It's difficult to accurately respond without more detail but I would encourage you to meet with the staff you feel most comfortable with to discuss this further and to explore some of the issues in more detail. I know that some of the systems can be a little complex at times but we are happy to be transparent about the detail and you should certainly be involved in writing your own care plan with your team to ensure that you get the best care available to you.

I hope this helps in some way and that you can talk to the team. If you don't feel able to do this please contact our complaints team by email complaints.lypft@nhs.net

With kind regards,
