I have been a patient of the Skimped Hill practice for about 5 years.
Generally I find the medical staff and doctors to be excellent - particularly so with one particular doctor - which is more than can be said for the receptionists.
A few are courteous and helpful but others are abrupt and very unhelpful. Recently I needed a repeat prescription and was denied on line access - my normal way of doing this.
I visited the surgery and was told I had to re-register now that my practice has merged with others in Bracknell.
I was given all the information needed by a particularly helpful receptionist on how to do this but it is proving impossible to access the website..
I have very serious worries about the new and enlarged group practice.
Although led to believe this will give an 'improvement' to services
I have my doubts, if recent past experience is anything to go by.
I think this move is little more than back door
NHS privatization and that company profit generation will take much higher priority over patient service.
I sincerely hope that will not be the case but do not feel very optimistic.
In the longer term I expect I will have to find another practice outside the group if my worst fears come true.
I have an excellent relationship with my doctor and would not wish to forfeit that.
However if things go downhill I will be faced with no other option
