I attended the pre-op assessment unit today, and although a portacabin manufactured some years ago, the experience was carried out promptly, efficiently and with professionalism. The appointment time was adhered to, and I actually got through the various tests and assessments quickly. My only issue is that the weighing and height calculations are carried out in the reception area, and I regard this as totally unacceptable. This is a sensitive procedure for those, like myself, who are morbidly obese, and I found it slightly uncomfortable. I really think the department should consider a better position for this assessment to take place. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful, so thanks to them.
