My wife took me to A&E about 10 days ago with severe stomach pain. We were seen faster than I expected and were sent to another department in A&E to be seen. We had to wait a while here even though there was no one else waiting but were quickly seen when my pain worsened. I was then put on a temporary ward awaiting blood test results.
The doctor came later to say that I had pancreatitis and needed to have my gall bladder removed and he didn't want me to leave until this had been done. The operation was carried out two days later and whilst nil by mouth wasn't pleasant everything went well.
I would really like to thank everyone on Docking Ward for their help and kindness. I can't remember all the names unfortunately. I would also like to thank the anaesthetist and all the surgical staff especially Mr Bolero the surgeon.
I would also like to say that considering the numbers catered for the meals were very good.
"Unexpected stay"
