About: Birmingham Midland Eye Centre (Bmec)

My GP arranged for me to attend the eye hospital at 9.15am the following day as he had found a tear in my retina. I arrived 40 minutes early but was seen straight away and advised I needed some laser treatment. I was asked to return to the hospital at 5pm when I would receive laser treatment to seal the tear. I returned early but was told I would be booked in in until 5pm. There was some confusion between the doctor and staff over how many retinal tears I had. There was also confusion about which waiting area I should be sitting in.

I eventually received my treatment and was free to go home at about 7pm

Dear William, thanks for taking time to feedback and I am sorry. I have sent your comments onto Laura Young, our Directorate Lead Nurse for BMEC, so that she can look into how we reduce confusion in the area you mentioned. Kind regards, Toby - Chief Executive.
