"My sons broken elbow and the incredible care he received"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / Trauma & Orthopaedics (Wards 1 & 5) University Hospital Wishaw / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a parent/guardian),

My 6 year old son broke his elbow badly falling off the monkey bars at a school and I travelled with him by ambulance from school to hairmyres hospital a and e where he received incredible care before being taken to wishaw children’s ward 20 to have surgery that night by the orthopaedic team and stayed overnight there. Then he has had follow up appts at fracture clinic at wishaw general. The whole experience was nothing short of traumatic for him and for us but could have been so much worse if it wasn’t for the outstanding staff he encountered at each and every Step in his care.
