I have had 2 appointments and yesterday 4th July 18 a surgrery at the Foscote. The whole experience has been brilliant. At no point as an NHS patient in a private hospital was I made to feel any different to a paying patient.
Upon my admission my wife and I were shown to a lovely private room with ensuite facilities and a balcony/view into the garden and beyond. All the procedures/choices were clearly explained to me and reiterated later, All the staff that dealt with me my nurse in the morning, tha anaesthatist, a lovely lady who prepped me for theatre (sorry forgotten her name but we had a nice discussion about housing and country views), my nurse in the recovery room, and my Nurse in the afternoon, and not forgetting the wonderful consultant/surgeon -they were all brilliant. The food was very very good -a lovely fresh prawn sarnie on brown with cranberry juice and jelly and ice crean (for a sore throat ...honestly) as well as a pot of decent quality tea !.
I have been in hospital and had surgery for accidents etc several times in my 54 years but this experience was the best ever ( considering no one wants to be in hospital).
I would just like to thank you all for making an unpleasant thing ...well pleasant.
Paul Lucas
"Thank you !"
