I had an unexpected complication with a partial knee replacement joint. I couldn’t move and had to call 999. The ambulance took 80 mins to get to me but I wasn’t in pain provided I didn’t move. The paramedics were great. They put my leg in a soft split and whisked me into A&E at Stoke Mandeville. After X-rays and a 4 hour delay they decided I needed to see an orthopaedic expert which happened the following morning. That evening I was transferred to Wycombe Hospital and operated on the following morning. After another overnight stay and a short physio session I was discharged with appropriate medication. All done and dusted in 4 days. Brilliant ! I cannot talk too highly of the care and attention I received. The paramedics, doctors, nurses and healthcare assistance wer all wonderful. Friendly, happy and very caring.
Thank goodness we have the NHS. It’s fantastic as far as I’m concerned.
