Husband was sent to A&E by GP on 28 June, following a second fall with memory loss. Treatment was fantastic. He was quickly assessed and taken to a cubicle, where his privacy and that of other patients was protected by a curtain. A succession of reassuring, efficient and friendly staff took bloods, ECG and blood pressure, as well as previous history. He then went for a CT scan, after being fully informed of the procedure and asked if he was happy with that. He was soon given reassuring results and discharged.
I was offered a chair throughout, though staff were careful to check that he was happy for me to be there, and always addressed him, not me.
A drop-off space was available in front of the hospital, and the check-in check-out parking procedure meant we didn't have to estimate how long we would be, though it was important to remember to check out on leaving.
"excellent care throughout"
