"My double vision wasn't "just my age"..."

About: Victoria Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

Was refered to hospital by my gp with double vision, as I had been to optician from the high street about my vision changing suddenly ,However when I was seen I was told it was my age and I would need glasses so I spent over £180 on new glasses only to be told on the next visit to the hospital that i didnt need glasses ,then I was told to to buy pound shop glasses. I told them about my headaches and still I was seeing double writing. In the end I was told again it was my age and that I shouldn't wear glasses.so....

1st I wasted £180 of my money on glasses I've not to wear and

2nd turns out I have an aneurysm in my brain behind my left eye and an menigioma tumour  on the left At the back of my brain which affects my vison. Im so dissapointed in the care given. It was like being treated by someone who hasn't a clue

Dear Naechin,

Please accept my apologies on the delay in replying. I am really very sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the care that you received from the ophthalmology department NHS Fife.

If you would be kind enough to email me (ruthrobertson2@nhs.net) directly with your details, I will look into this more fully and if required a meeting can be arranged with the appropriate team to discuss your care more fully.

Kind Regards

Ruth Robertson
