My daughter is currently sitting in the waiting department to be seen for a very rare eye infection.
She has just text me to say although she was third on the list, 3 hours later she still has not been seen!
She has been told that this is normal!!!! Really?
She understands there are a number of clinics today but she was there at the start of her clinic, i.e. at 08:20.
However, she is still there over 3 hours later having watched 25 people go in and out before her.
My daughter has raised this with the staff who have clearly 'forgotten' about her even though they have said they haven't.
Their response to possibly "making a mistake" was they have not made a mistake and that this long wait is 'normal'.
If it is indeed normal then I believe it is not acceptable.
I have advised my daughter to contact the patient advice & liaison service so please do not suggest this in your standard response.
I welcome your comments.
