I am now 1 week post op following elective breast augmentation which I chose to have done at Spire. Prior to choosing Spire for my breast surgery I compared other Healthcare establishments and Spire was by far the best for me.
From the very first consultation I had with my surgeon the care and commitment provided to me was exceptional. The appointments offered to me were flexible and they always worked around my needs. Appointments were always on time and all staff are so friendly throughout. Communication was always clear and concise in the run up to the operation and this made me feel very at ease. I was fully educated on what would happen on the day of the procedure, during the procedure, discharge and taking care of myself at home. I was provided with detailed instructions of what I should do prior to surgery and post surgery, the staff always made sure I clearly understood what I was been told and I didn't feel rushed at any time. The politeness and friendliness of the Spire staff has been lovely filled with dignity & respect. On the day of the operation I was taken straight to my room which was pleasant, very clean and was equipped with everything I would need during my stay. There was never any unnecessary waiting around and staff were always popping into my room to keep me up to date with my procedure.
On arrival to theatre I was very pleasantly greeted by all the staff including my Surgeon who I had met many times and the anaesthetist who I had also met earlier in the day. Everyone was nice and chatty and I think they obviously wanted to make me feel at ease (which it worked) so a bit of comedy banter really made me feel much better. The whole procedure went as planned without any problems and looking back now I know I had absolutely no reason to be anxious. The post operative care started immediately on my arrival back to my room, I was cared for around the clock and I know if I needed anything I felt I could ask. Although I didn't have an appetite the food & drink on offer was great. the nurses eventually got me to eat a little something but I had a very nice breakfast the following morning once I felt a bit better. My surgeon came to visit me the following morning and once agreed I could go home I wasn't waiting around long.
Silicone breast implants don't last a lifetime and there will be a point in time where they will need replacing, I will without doubt return to Spire for this to be done once again and my only hope is that my surgeon is still Practising at this hospital because he is fabulous. I have complete trust in him and I am delighted with my choice, he understood my needs and we have established a good surgeon/patient relationship. For over 10 years I have been dreaming of eventually having this operation for cosmetic reasons and my sugeon has produced the exact image I dreamt of for such a long time.
"A very pleasant experience"
