Arrived at the Hospital very nervous indeed. Hospital felt very calm and friendly. Found the ward very easily. Waiting room was very clean and tidy. Was called in by Dr Desai and procedure was explained carefully to me. I wanted a sedation but when it was explained I agreed to have the throat swab. Two nurses were there with me. Susan and Vivienne. Both spoke to me very calmly and I began to relax a little. Dr Desai and Susan spoke to me informing what was happening which was reassuring. Then it was over. I was taken next door to have my blood sugar and blood pressure take.
I was left there for a while so shouted to a passing nurse to find out what was happening. I was told that I had to wait for one hour for sedation to ware off. I explained that I did not have one. I was told that the board said I had. The staff then moved quickly and I was discharged. Communication between staff could have been better but staff were first class.
I was told that nothing had been found and details given to me. I left the Hospital much more calmly than how I had arrived. I would like to express my thanks for all the staff that dealt with me during this time.
