I went to the walk in with my girlfriend at 9pm for an emergency appointment, it took them 20 minutes to see us as they were too busy eating fish and chips. They then diagnosed my girlfriend with a kidney infection and sent us on our way. They prescribed her with antibiotics and anti inflammatory. After a week of taking the pills prescribed, her condition worsened. We then called 111 and they said to stay away from ibuprofen as anti inflammatory made it worse. So there’s the first problem with the walk in. Next, the 111 said they were gonna get my girlfriends gp (who is at the walk in) to call her within the next too hours. An hour passed and she felt violently sick so called them. The lady on the phone was unhelpful and said ‘there’s nothing we can do until 7’ and this was at 6pm. As my girlfriend said wait and was going to ask a question, the lady said thank you bye and hung up. We then just went up a&e as she felt awful. Getting to a&e she was seen pretty much straight away and provided another urine sample and a blood test. After looking at her blood, it was seen that there was no infection and she had been taking antibiotics for no reason which isn’t very good for her. The hospital told her to get in touch with her gp to arrange an ultrasound to look at what the problem is and she has tried calling 5 different times today and has not been able to get through. Very very disappointed with the service provided, she is in a lot of pain, more now than she was in the first place. It’s not the first time they’ve messed up as I went to the walk in due to suspected tonsillitis and they told me it would go away on its own. A week past and I felt 10x worse and ended up on antibiotics for 2 weeks.
