I went for a routine mammogram at the breast centre as I had missed my first one when they were in my town. After a week I was recalled due to abnormalities on the mammogram of my right breast. After a core biopsy I was told it was Lobular Carcinoma in Situ and I would have to have the tissue removed under general anesthetic.
I was so frightened and nervous at the thought but everyone was so nice and compassionate at the centre especially Angeline one of the breast care nurses and I was soon put at ease. I met with Mr Mullin my surgeon the next day who explained what the procedure would be.
On the day if surgery my Anaesthetist was Dr Neary who again was lovely explaining to me what was happening every step of the way. The surgery went well and I have my follow-up appointment soon. So fingers crossed. I really can’t thank everyone at the breast centre and hospital enough for the excellent care I received.
"Excellent care I received"
