"My visit to A & E"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Accident and emergency

I was sent from Wycombe Injury Unite on Sunday 18th June at 19.30hrs. I had knocked a lead plaque in the garden which fell and caught my big toe. It crushed it and was bleeding heavely. A fracture and a open wound. I did have to wait 2. 30mins but well worth it. The two Drs from Orthopedic were marvellous. I received IV antibiotics and had it dressed. My follow on treatment on the Monday and Wednesday was good. Staff extreamly careing. I have never been to Stoke Manderville before and have not been to A&E since I was 20 years old when I broke my leg. Very happy patient and thank you.

Mrs Gillian Godley.

By the way I am 71 now!

Dear Mrs Godley

Thank you for your lovely words and for taking the time to share your experience when you attended the Accidents and Emergencies Department at Stoke Mandeville Hospital at what would have been a difficult time for you.

It is so lovely to hear of how our staff worked well to provide you with a high level of kind, wonderful and compassionate care. It is also very reassuring to know that your treatment and follow up were good and you are now a happy patient!

We will ensure your words of 'thanks' are passed on to the members of staff, for recognition and further encouragement.

Kind regards

Patient Advice & Liaison Service (BHT)
