"A&E Experience worst care I’ve ever received"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital / Accident and emergency

I visited A&E at pinderfield hospital yesterday following a 60 mph RTA on the M1, in which both cars are a write off, (to give you some degree of the severity). I was seen within 20 mins by the triage sister who took the same details as the receptionist. The sister look like she’d been sucking lemons and didn’t offer me analgesia. The HCA dropped the BP cuff on the floor and didn’t clean it. We waited 3 hours even though the board stated the waiting time was 1 hr 58 mins. I asked for pain relief to be told that ‘the dr had my notes, and I couldn’t have any. I was in that much pain I couldn’t sit in the metal chairs,

I had to get my own pain relief. I was taken into a side room to see a the A&E consultation who saw me for 3 minutes yes 3 MINUTES. I winced when he touched me and was told he needs to examine me. I was sent home without pain relief, being made to feel like I am inconvenience. If the A&E consultant and nursing sister deliver care like this, what hope is there for junior staff. Your service is a disgrace. The worst care I’ve ever received

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your recent experience of our A&E Services.

From what you have described, is not something we would want anyone to experience when visiting our services and for this I am sorry.

I am concerned with the issues you have raised and feel it is important we investigate further.

Given that this is a public website, it would not be appropriate to go into your personal details.

Therefore, I wonder if you would contact our PALS team on 01924 542972 or via email on pals@midyorks.nhs.uk so that we can carry out an investigation.

Thank you again and I hope you are recovering well from your unfortunate car accident.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn

(Patient Liaison Improvement Lead)
