"A & E visit"

About: Lincoln County Hospital

I was visiting Lincoln from my home in the Midlands and became ill during the afternoon due to a problem passing urine, I attended at around 5pm, accompanied by my wife.

After registration I was assessed and a while later treated by a nurse and a doctor who spent a hour looking after me, I was in terrible pain and, I know, making some noise for which I apologised. They treated me with the greatest care and respect, when they managed to make the pain subside I could not say how grateful I was.

Later I was treated by a second nurse who also showed the same skills.

It is obvious that, like much of the NHS, there is some shortage of finance at Lincoln, broken seats in the waiting area and staff searching for equipment in short supply but your staff there are absolutely wonderful, they work very hard with great compassion, care and respect.

It wasn't a good experience but I knew I was in good hands.

Thank you so much!

Dear William,

Thank you for the kind post regarding your recent visit to Lincoln A&E department, the staff will be pleased to read that you felt treated with care and respect.

I do apologise for the waiting room chairs, we are in the process of funding some replacement seating which will hopefully improve the situation.

I hope you continue to make a good recovery.

Regards

Karen Hansord – A&E Sister
