"Dad's Care in A&E"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

Dad went through A&E this evening after a fall. Sustained a fractured humerus, he was distressed and in a lot of pain. Care from paramedics Christine and Margaret was exceptional. Hard act to follow however the patient centred care and compassion delivered by the fabulous nurses Anne Marie, Claire and Louise and Drs Lauren and John helped my dad get home safe and comfortable. Friendly Banter helped keep my dad distracted. Nothing was a bother to the staff, who looked after us too. Can't thank you enough.

Dear MIJ

Many thanks for taking the time to post feedback on the care your Dad received whilst attending the Emergency Department here at University Hospital Wishaw.

I am so pleased that you found your Dad's experience a positive one and the staff will be delighted to read your kind words.

The ED staff have a very difficult job, and carry this out with the patient being at the centre of everything.

It is always nice to get positive feedback and I will ensure this will be shared across the Emergency team here, and to those whom you have personally named.

Thank you once again and Best Wishes to your Dad.

regards

Faith

Hi MIJ,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us on CareOpinion. It sounds like what must have been a distressing time for your father and yourself was handled professionally with your Fathers' care at the centre of it all. I hope that he is recovering well?

I would like to locate Margaret and Christine so I can pass on these kind words to them and let their manager know what a good impression they made. If you would like this done please contact me at scotamb.feedback@nhs.net. I will need the time and date that the ambulance attended your father as well as your fathers name and the address we attended.

I wish you and your father all the best!

Alan
