"Taking good care of us."

About: Kibworth Health Centre

The staff are very helpful and do their best to help in an efficient and friendly way. All doctors are good and one doctor is particularly thorough. Sometimes appointments run late. However,

I would rather doctors take time to understand and aid my family's illnesses, than rush and not diagnose/treat properly, and so I am willing to wait a few extra minutes, if necessary, for this quality of service.

Online services are good and the surgeries have links to local chemists to make repeat prescriptions run smoothly. They do however insist on regular reviews of medication. I am not sure if this is a national thing or that this surgery is trying to save money? It seems to me a bit unnecessary (and time consuming) to take up an appointment just to review ongoing long-term medication advised by hospitals.

The new Kibworth surgery is very smart and I have enjoyed exercise classes there, aimed at improving fitness for people who suffer with problems such as poor balance/problems walking and moving. Very good preventative steps.

Fleckney and Great Glen surgeries could do with a make over, but staff are warm, friendly and efficient. Information is displayed clearly and services run the same way as Kibworth.

There are problems with the appointment system and getting through at 8:30 for an appointment (for that day) by phone is manic. Many times I have seen a nurse instead, as doctors appointments have been taken, which is ok, but not ideal. I have had to go to local walk in centres to see a doctor if no appointments are available.

Overall though, I am very pleased with this surgery and feel that they meet all my family's needs. I have recommended this practice to other family members. Staff have been very supportive of all our requirements.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our service. Its really important to us to receive feedback from patients so that we can develop our service. I note your comment about medication reviews and although this is not about saving money, we try to ensure we deal with as many as possible by telephone and only ask patients to come in wen absolutely necessary.

I am delighted to hear the exercise classes have had a positive benefit.

We do review our appointment system regularly and appreciate that at times it can be frustrating trying to get through. This year we have employed an Advanced Nurse Practitioner who now sees around 125 patients per week.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to review our services.
