"Some Staff Are Disrespectful"

About: Manor Hospital / Respiratory medicine

Speaking for myself and M.-I-L. Not very happy with the way we have been spoken to by staff on ward 17. M-I-L has COPD among a few other health issues. She needs constant oxygen yet staff turn it off then leave her to the point she could die. Staff then speak to us like we’re rubbish yet don’t like it when you tell them that they’re at fault for her being in again in a month as we were informed she has to be on 2l of oxygen at home when she is only supposed to be on 0.5l. This hospital overall is good but wouldn’t recommend for long time care especially if you smoke as they don’t have the patience or time for smokers. Clean exept the flies around the hospital but thats hard to avoid due to doors being open all the time. Wouldn’t come here if I end up ill.

Thank you for your comments and I pleased you think the hospital overall is good but of course disappointed that you did not have a consistently good experience with staff attitude and relation to the management of oxygen.

We would of course like to discuss this further, please contact us on 01922 656463 or via patientrelations@walsallhealthcare.nhs.uk
