This isn’t primary care bashing.

I understand your callers are taking 4 times the traiffic and imagine if not all other surgeries in the link are S1 can be cumbersome.. I worked as a Practice nurse with my prescribing for 7 years and have many courses. I how it’s easy to think it’s so easy on the outside of a GP practice-when inside it’s the swan effect!

I am acutely aware of the Jade Goody effect on cervical smear uptake.

I frequently witnessed many DNA for smear appts in general nursing clinics.

I called today to book such an appt to be told the system is merging now ( I thought it happed when the 4 surgeries joined previously) and to call back later. I specified today/ this week month etc. I worry with smears it doesn’t take much to put a young girl off!

I will of course call back and book.

It seems if a warning of.a wait was was given before The telephaone users chose any option that may be helpful (and if the on line appts are available in the future and advertised to clients I think this change blip will be smoothed).
