I approached with both fear and trepidation, not knowing what to expect. Reception was immediate and courteous. My wife and I were guided to the waiting area. We were in good time. I hate to keep medics and their staff waiting (I have enjoyed a military career). The team leader appeared and introduced herself. I followed her to the "sharp end" where I met an assistant and a student in training. All very friendly.
The doctor who would be operating the procedure appeared who gave the most comprehensive briefing followed by "Any Questions?". Prior to this, I had a mental note of questions - quite un-necessary as the briefing covered all aspects. The doctor was Nigerian which was interesting as I had visited Nigeria previously on a number of occasions. We had an interesting chat about the old days. Procedure concluded and I was taken to a recovery room and spoiled with biscuits and coffee. My wife in the waiting area was kept informed of progress and advised when I was ready for discharge,.
"An "aspiration""
