"Second knee replacement 27th March 2018, Wansbeck"

About: Wansbeck Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

Firstly, please refer back to my first knee replacement on 8th August 2017. Everything stated in that review is exactly what happened this time. All the staff were amazing and were all extremely professional in every way possible as well as being efficient in very busy schedules. As I said the last time I sang Simply the Best in the recovery room much to the delight of the nurses but apparently my consultant said I also sang through the operation! This time I was more behaved and only gave a rendition prior to “going under”. However, it is now ten weeks since my replacement and yesterday I walked up the stairs to the top of Belsay Castle and around the grounds and my new knees are fine. I feel so much more confident and in fact slightly taller because of my straighter legs. Please pass on my thanks to everyone involved especially my consultant- this has given me a new lease of life.

Dear Ms.Eagle,

What a fantastic review to review, walking up the steps to Belsay Castle – what an achievement!

It will be a pleasure to share your review with the orthopaedic team who looked after you, to ensure it reaches the specific doctors and nurses who cared for you please email us at patient.experience@nht.nhs.uk. In the meantime I will forward your comments to the senior orthopaedic team who will be very grateful to receive it.

All the best and I hope you continue to enjoy life with your new knees.
