I was very nervous about attending for a cardiac MRI, as I have had a previous bad experience with contrast dyes and CT angiograms and in particular because I am claustrophobic.
On the day, though, I really needn't have worried.
The young radiographer and the young nurse with him worked together beautifully as a team to keep me both reassured, encouraged and informed throughout my procedure.
They were telling me exactly what would come next; the nurse told me immediately beforehand when the worst part of the procedure would happen, so it didn't come as a shock; they had each of them at a different end of the scanner letting me know that both ends were always open and I was never far from the exit; and the radiographer even told me how many more minutes of the procedure remained. Their bedside manner was professional, open, friendly and courteous.
Top marks, and thank you, Barts; much appreciated.
"Excellent experience with cardiac MRI scan"
