"Emergency c-section"

I had my baby boy here 23 months ago.

Always thought about writing a complaint but never did, until I thought about it a bit more.

I rang the labour ward 3 times before I come up, each time they told me I wasn't ready to go up.

Even tho I was having very fast and regular contractions.

Because of how much pain I was in me and my partner made a decision to go up to the labour ward.

I was booked in at the luncia ward we went up on 15/06/2016.

The lady was seen us to our room wasnt very welcoming at all. I explained how much pain I was in and that I thought the baby had done poo, as I had some strange coloured stuff. She checked how dilated I was and I was only 2cm. So she completely ignored what I had said about the baby poo and said she wanted to send me home. I knew something wasn't right and went with my gut feeling. I had to tell her I hadn't felt the baby move just so I could stay in the hospital. She huffed and said well you will have to go on a montior for 30 minutes. Then they will send you home. I was in tears because of the pain she didn't offer to help me to where I was being montiored and left us to it. I got put on a montior the lady wondered off talking to other staff members when the machine started to bleep very loud. My partner had to go out and get someone as we didn't feel this was right. The baby'a heart beat would go every time I had a contraction. She ran in and said oh sorry i didn't realise as she had panic on he face. Took me straight down to labour ward. They popped my waters and seen the baby had done a poo inside and pressed the red button straight away. About 10 people come running in and I was gowned straight a way for a emergency c-section. My baby was so destressed he had got stuck and pooed. If the lady had listened to me from the start it might not of been such a horrible experience for me! And if the woman on the phone listened to me none of this might not of happened. Just because I'm a first time mum doesn't mean I don't know when something's not right with my body. My little boy ended up in intensive care and on special baby unit. The only people I was happy with was the people on that labour ward that made sure my little boy got out ok! I'm now very nervous to get pregnant again as I don't know how my labour will turn out if people don't listen when I say I think something's wrong! And when a baby poo's inside a mothers stomach I've heard it's very dangerous so I don't know why that woman would of sent me home after stressing this to her. My over all experience wasn't nice at all.
