This was my first experience of the Coronary Care Unit - a small but busy acute ward to which I was unexpectedly admitted following a minor procedure in another part of the hospital.
During my stay I saw each patient being treated with the same dignity, respect and care.
All staff worked hard and responded to patient's needs professionally, with kindness and a sense of humour when appropriate.
A good sense of teamwork was clear when the situation demanded - some patients were very unwell and required several staff at one time.
The doctors and their teams that I saw who visited the ward were pleasant and communicated well with the patients.
Like anyone who is admitted to hospital I was apprehensive. The staff gave me reassurance and confidence.
