I had some fairly distressing times throughout the labour and the care I received was excellent.
From going in to be induced to the postnatal care, I cannot fault it. Every member of staff that I came into contact with explained everything to me and showed genuine care towards me, my wife and our baby. I never waited long if I needed a member of staff when on the wards.
The real stars for me were the midwives on the delivery suite. I had 1 changeover of staff during my labour and both midwives were amazing. The midwife that we had to begin with came to see us when she started her shift the next day.
The midwife that delivered my baby was incredible. She explained everything clearly and made me believe that I could make it through the birth when I did not think I could. She kept me focused and determined and showed real compassion. I cannot thank her enough.
It was not the labour that I had envisaged but it was the best that I could have hoped for in the circumstances and for that I will be forever grateful.
