My score is wholly down to my experience to date with trying to get an appointment for my Son with ENT following a referral from our GP. It in no way reflects any other service within NGH for which I have much praise for many of the services I and my family have received.
After having two previous appointments cancelled we received a letter asking us to contact the department to remake an appointment, this is now five months since the initial referral.
Having tried at least six times daily, every day, for week however there is nobody answering the phone. I have tried going through the NGH operator and get through to a voicemail that is constantly full. I have had to rely on an extremely helpful and apologetic PALS team to forward messages to the department in order to get someone to call me to offer an appointment at the end of July with a caveat that the appointment may be cancelled if the clinician is on holiday!
I fail to see how this is providing a service if nobody can contact the department to make or cancel an appointment. There is clearly an issue, perhaps lack of clinicians and/or over subscribed waiting lists? If so, please be transparent.
