"MRI Scan"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

I have been experiencing chronic dental pain in my mouth for a long time. As part of the ongoing investigations I am having with the Oral/Facial department a CT scan of my sinuses and an MRI head scan were booked. I had the CT scan a few weeks ago which gave no indication of the cause of my pain. I will get the results of my MRI scan at my next appointment with Oral/Facial department and hopefully a cause will be found. My reason for writing this review is purely to show my appreciation to all the staff for the help I have received to date and in particular the treatment I received from the staff at the MRI scanner unit today. I was extremely apprehensive about the MRI scan fearing that I would not be able to cope with the very claustrophobic environment. The staff were amazing!!! At all times my dignity was respected guiding me through the whole process in a calming, caring and professional manner. Thank you very much. Kind regards, Mark.

Dear Mark

Thank you for taking the time to post such a positive review of our services at Royal Cornwall Hospital, especially for the staff who looked after you throughout your MRI.

It is fantastic to hear that they took the time to guide you through the process in a calming, professional and caring manner, especially as it was understandably an extremely anxious time for you.

I will be passing your kind words, appreciation and thanks on to the staff who would have contributed to your treatment and care as I know they will be pleased to know they were able to make a difference to your experience and made it as easy as possible.

I hope that the cause of your chronic dental pain is found soon and you will be feeling much better.

With kind regards

Michaela Brewer, Patient & Family Experience Coordinator
