About: White Horse Surgery

We arrived 8.05 in the morning with 12 people in front of us with 6 week old baby with a rash, we were not asked any further symptoms, we were worried it was something more serious. We were told to sit in the rash area, which was basically an isolated unheated corridor in December, there are no other baby facilities for hot water and no where to get a drink. We were seen at 10.45 so that's a wait of nearly 3 hours, we were given no information i.e. Whether waiting for a particular Doctor.

Now as worried parents of a baby, should this case not be prioritised over other patients? To be served on a first come first served basis. This approach is simply unacceptable. Let's get a bit more intelligent how we deal with patients on a case by case basis and ask some basic questions. This is a walk in surgery and therefore a triage approach must be adopted. More information on queue time would also be appreciated as I am a working father and my day was completely disrupted

I am sorry and agree that certain patients need to be prioritised on the walk in. If you feel there is something seriosuly wrong, please mention this to the reception staff who will make a note on the screen for the clinician to see and determine if you need to be seen sooner than others. The walk in service is generally a first come first served service but we do see patients earlier if we feel it is warranted.
