"Gp sent me to Raid team at hospital with referral"

Visited Gp in a mental state, she done all she could and rang the raid team to tell them about me and to accept me turning up at A&E that day.

I gave letter to check in and told her I was expected and didn’t need to do waiting time in A&E, I still got called into triage. Told the nurse, who took my blood pressure and sent me back out in waiting room. We had to wait over 2HOURS despite being told we had referral, I was beside myself. I kept asking was there anybody from the Raid team in A&E and told yes

I had to keep going outside whilst waiting.

Finally I got called through, put in a room in the middle of A&e dept, 2 ladies walked in and asked my partner to leave. I was asked lots of questions going back to childhood, what my upbringing was like,, was I abused, bullied, etc. The lady kept getting what I’d told her mixed up, also said I was on a lot of Diazepam(I wouldn’t be on it, if Gp didn’t think I needed it) told her psych wouldn’t agree to see me again, told Gp to up my meds.

Gp as written 3 times now to her, and she still want she me.

So unless you are psychotic or on the verge on committing suicidal (not feel like, or thinking about) your wasting your time.

They told me to go see GP.

There is no urgent MH care in Tameside, it’s on its knees . Secondary care is like gold, psychotic or suicide only and healthy minds waiting lists long as your arm.

Thanks for your comments.

We take all feedback very seriously and there are a number of concerns that you’ve raised that we’d really like to look into further. As these relate to a number of services and possible another trust, our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) would be the best point of contact in the first instance. PALS can give you advice on what's available, help to negotiate prompt solutions to problems and help bring about changes in the way that services are developed – their contact number is 0161 716 3178.
